The QS Global Employer Survey has seen a dramatic increase in response in 2012 from 17,000 in 2011 to over 25,500 in 2012. Growth has been seen worldwide but nowhere more profoundly than in Latin America, where a campaign conducted in Spanish met with great success. Responses are closely scrutinized and weighted to eliminate biases that may result from disproportionate response levels.

Global Employer Survey 2011 – Responses by Country (%)

In recent years, QS received a dramatic level of response from Latin America. These counts and all subsequent analysis have been adjusted by applying a weighting to responses from countries with a disstinctly disproportionate level of response.

Employer Responses by Job Classification

Up until 2011, whilst employer respondents have been asked to provide a Job Title, the survey has not offered a finite selection of choices to make the analysis straightforward. With the survey presented in a dozen languages the variety of synonyms for similar roles is significant. From 2011 we have been taking the time to run a matching exercise to give us an idea of the aggregate level of seniority amongst employer responses. In future a list will be provided so that over time we can reduce the number of “Other” responses in the below table.
