The methodology for the QS University Rankings: EECA differs from the global ranking, using different indicators and changing the weighting of existing indicators.
The research excellence element, that exist in all of our regional rankings, is based on data from Scopus, the world’s largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed academic literature.
The proposal is to use an approach that is comparable to some of our existing exercises, probably closest in nature to the Arab Region ranking, with some of the weightings adjusted – particularly the faculty student ration and proportion of staff with PhD. This is done to highlight the strengths of the particular region.
- The 2016 edition of the QS University Rankings: EECA will be released on June 14th.
